According to a rumor, Caucasian Mountain Dogs are so brave, that they would even attack a bear in order to protect the livestock, so Romanians preferred to take them when they went to the Charpatians, so they could feel totally protected.

I have seen these dogs in thier natural environment in the Caucasus Mountains with nomadic herdsmen. In fact we took one in as a pup after a bear had broken its leg when he and his mother attacked it! So yes, they attack anything and everything in order to protect you and your belongings. God help you if they dont like you or think you are a threat.
